About Us
Sharon Birchall MBIAE
I studied Electrolysis and Beauty Therapy at South Cheshire College, gaining my City and Guilds core qualifications in 1989. Since then, I have worked in salons, for well-known skincare companies and myself across the North West before settling in Cheshire.
I hold Level 4 and 5 VTCT qualifications in Advanced Electrolysis and Aesthetic Skin Treatments. To update my skills and stay ahead of industry trends, I regularly attend courses, seminars, and trade shows all over the UK. I also host the annual North West Professional Electrolysis Workshop, where colleagues can meet and learn from one another in a supportive environment.
I’m a member of several professional bodies, including the British Institute and Association of Electrolysis (BIAE), the Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS), the British Dermatology Nursing Group (BDNG), the British Association of Beauty Therapists and Cosmetologists (BABTAC), the British Beauty Council and the Beauty Guild.
I founded the Electrolysis Legacy Group in September 2023 to educate, promote, and support the electrolysis industry and encourage others to pursue this hugely rewarding career.
Abigail is my co-pilot, collaborator, and friend: I’m privileged to have her working alongside me to make the ELG a source of information and support for everyone.

I am a member of the British Institute and Association of Electrolysis (BIAE), who aim to up hold industry standards and promote continued learning and development. This is something I am passionate about and firmly believe in also.
I am a qualified lecturer and assessor and have worked in colleges and a British skin care company delivering lectures and training to colleges and privately all over the UK.
I appreciate how important it is to give back to your industry and that is how I came to join Sharon in her mission to set up the Electrolysis Laser Group. We want to support current and future industry professionals and the general public who may wish to receive such treatment and work within these industries themselves.
I feel very lucky to be working alongside Sharon who like me is so dedicated and passionate about the industry.
